Welcome to Roofr Academy! In this first video we'll be sharing information about Roofr Academy and the importance of setting up your processes.

Hi, I'm Matt Radford from Roofr, and I'm really excited to share some of the great tools and use cases of the Roofr platform with you today. Roofr was built by roofers for roofers. What makes this product so unique? The features, tools, and abilities in the Roofr CRM were designed to help run roofing businesses like yours successfully.

In this lesson, we're covering the basics of setting up your Roofr account in a way that helps you work as efficiently as possible. We'll talk about the importance of process and how setting up your software with objectives in mind will translate to more time savings, better visibility, and ultimately, more revenue down the road.

Before diving into the features, I want to talk about the why behind them. At its core, the Roofr platform was designed to empower you to simplify your business operations, save time and money, and align seamlessly with your workflow.

By investing time now to customize your Roofr account with your processes:

  • You’ll save countless hours in the future.

Processes are what keep your team on the same page. They ensure that each customer receives a high-quality experience, no matter who they speak to or which team installs their roof. Processes also give business owners peace of mind, allowing them to focus on bigger things, like expanding the business.

Preparing Your Process

Before setting up your Roofr account, it's important to have your process built out:

  • Do you already have a process set? Can you write it down?
  • If not, you're not alone. Many businesses have processes that exist more in practice than on paper.

If you haven’t thought about processes before, download our process template by clicking the Download Attachment button below. This template allows you to write out your processes, either as a PDF or by hand. We recommend doing this before continuing with the lesson, though it’s not required.

Defining Your Goals

Your processes improve day-to-day operations, but it's equally important to consider how they impact your broader business goals:

  • Clear goals help you align your processes with your vision.
  • Think big. How would you like to see your business evolve with the power of software?

Consider your long-term goals. Where do you want your business to be in:

  • 3 months?
  • 6 months?
  • 12 months?
  • 5 years?

Some goals might include growing your team, increasing revenue, reducing costs, or improving speed to lead. Success is personal, and goals aren’t always about money.

Take some time now to look at the one-pager below and write down your goals. Note your current business performance metrics, if you know them. If not, that’s okay—this could be a goal itself.
